National Privacy Commission Awards Data Privacy Act Certification to Foundation University

Foundation University was recently certified by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) after complying with the rigorous Data Protection Officer and Data Processing System (DPO/DPS) registration requirements for the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Republic Act No. 10173, commonly referred to as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, is a comprehensive framework that governs the collection, processing, storage, and protection of personal information across public and private institutions in the Philippines. The law affirms the right of individuals to data privacy, and sets clear obligations for organizations that handle personal and sensitive information.
The comprehensive preparation undertaken to achieve this certification reflects the institution’s proactive and systematic approach to protecting the personal data of its stakeholders. Through the meticulous review and subsequent enhancement of internal data governance policies, Foundation University ensures its full alignment with the operational standards set forth by the National Privacy Commission.
The university is registered under NPC Registration Number PIC-004-024-2025, with validity until December 27 of the present year.
