FU’s Graduate School Dean Wins Best Presentation Award at ICOSS 2026
Foundation University achieved international recognition as Dr. Felipe B. Sullera Jr., LPT., ED.D., Dean of the Graduate School and Concurrent Director for Curriculum and Instruction, won the prestigious Session Best Presentation award at the 13th International Conference on Social Sciences (ICOSS) 2026, held on September 7–8, 2026.
Dr. Sullera was honored with the Session Best Presentation award for his oral presentation entitled “Integrated Climate Change Education: Impact on Students’ Civic Responsibility” co-authored with Kyle Saavedra, Klint Sandoval, Emerose Matbagon, Jhean Cañas, and Daniel Roy Ibañez, during the session on "Development Studies, Geography, and Social Transformation."
ICOSS 2026 is organized by the International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), making it an impressive global platform. The conference is a primary hub for the academic world, connecting leading educators, social scientists, and researchers worldwide to share transformative ideas and solutions to global socio-economic and environmental issues. It is known to be very selective and heavily focused on research aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Sullera’s award directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 4 (Quality Education). By researching how teaching about climate change in schools makes students more responsible citizens, his work aligns perfectly with the UN's global mission to use education to address environmental issues. Additionally, by sharing these ideas at an international conference in Indonesia, the achievement supports Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which encourages countries and institutions to work together and share knowledge to build a better world.
