Foundation University continues to expand its global reach. A delegation of university leaders recently traveled to Guangdong Province, China, to meet and build ties with leading educational institutions. This visit marks another major step in the university’s commitment to internationalization and academic excellence.
The delegation was composed of University President Victor Vicente Sinco, University Chancellor Charlotte Cariño, Vice Chancellor for Administration Lucelle Saguban, and Internationalization Coordinator Anna Carla Merto.
The team connected with four distinguished schools in the region:
- Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University
- Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Trade
- Guangdong Engineering Polytechnic
- Guangdong Maritime University
Each institution has its own strengths in technical education, research, and industry partnerships. The meetings allowed both sides to share their goals, programs, and areas of expertise. Leaders discussed how they can work together to benefit students, faculty, and staff.
These agreements open the door to a wide range of joint activities. Both sides will facilitate faculty and student exchanges, giving learners and educators the chance to study, teach, and experience education in a different country.
The partnerships also support scientific and academic collaboration. Researchers from both universities can work together on projects, share findings, and publish results. They will also explore joint work in innovation, technology, and industrial design — fields that are vital in today’s global economy.
In addition, the schools plan to develop specialized short courses and training programs. These courses will respond to current industry needs and help students gain practical skills. All initiatives are designed to bring mutual benefit and long-term value.
This effort aligns closely with Foundation University’s strategic direction. The school actively seeks to strengthen its international network and create meaningful opportunities for its community. By connecting with institutions abroad, it brings global perspectives, new ideas, and higher standards of learning to our own campus.
As these new partnerships take shape, Foundation University looks forward to a future of shared success. This visit is not just about partnerships - it is about opening doors to new possibilities, enriching the learning experience, and preparing the university community to lead and succeed in a connected world.
