Excellence takes center stage as Foundation University received multiple honors during the Commission on Higher Education–Negros Island Region (CHED-NIR) 2nd Regional Quality Awards. The awards were given during the celebration of CHED’s 32nd Founding Anniversary and the 6th National Higher Education Day.

Among the schools honored during the event, Foundation University stood out with the following awards:

  1. Outstanding Board Performance in the November 2025 Nurses Licensure Examination

  2. Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Innovative Award for Higher Education

  3. Model Implementer Award for Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs)

  4. Award for Excellence in Peace Education

  5. Award for Excellence in Community Extension and Linkages

These awards reflect Foundation University's comprehensive approach to education. Academic excellence is a priority, but the institution also recognizes the importance of character development, social responsibility, and community involvement. This is in line with the goal to produce graduates who are not only professionally competent but also carry the values and sense of purpose that make them responsible citizens.

Representing the university during the awarding ceremony were Dr. Romario P. Ybañez, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Concurrent Director for Research & Extension Services; Dr. Felipe Sullera Jr., Dean of the Graduate School; Dr. Lora May Calawigan, Dean of the Office of Student Life; and Mr. Peter Macabinguil, Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The ceremony took place on May 26, 2026, at STI West Negros University in Bacolod City. This gathering brought together colleges and universities across NIR to recognize those that have made meaningful contributions not only to education but also to public service and national development.

This achievement reflects the shared dedication of the entire Foundation University community. Our administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and partners each play an important role in creating a culture where education reaches beyond the classroom and inspires meaningful impact. These accomplishments are the result of a collective commitment to learning, service, and positive change. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this recognition possible!
