Foundation University Bags Gold Medals at the NIR Regional Skills Olympics

Foundation University won gold medals in two highly competitive categories at the first-ever Negros Island Region (NIR) Regional Skills Olympics, securing the honor to represent the region at the national level.
Niña Cajuyong and Chris Stephen Jalotjot from the Foundation Preparatory Academy won the gold medal in Autonomous Mobile Robotics while Earl John Estandarte and Ryle Anthony Gabotero from the College of Computer Studies won the gold medal in Cybersecurity. Their victories earned them official spots to compete at the WorldSkills Philippines National Competition, tentatively scheduled for July 2026.
Meanwhile, Shiercane Brent Albaran from the College of Computer Studies also won the bronze medal in the Electronics category.
Hosted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) at the Negros Oriental Convention Center from June 8 to 10, the event gathered 75 delegates from Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor. Contestants competed across 17 skill areas covering services, construction, information technology, creative arts, and engineering.
Foundation University’s win highlights its strength in technology and innovation. The competition under these categories tested the participants’ technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and application of modern tools. These are areas central to the university’s technology-integrated learning programs.
For Foundation University, the success of these students serve as a strong validation of its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates equipped to face the demands of the digital and modern workplace.
