DAFA Collections from Bella Artes Project Now Open for Patrons and Students

Yesterday, January 12, 2026, the university welcomed a substantial donation of books and printed materials from Ms. Jam Acuzar, founder of the private non-profit Bella Artes Project. For years, Ms. Acuzar has been a noted supporter of artists and institutions in the country’s evolving culture and arts scene.

The formal signing of the Deed of Donation was attended by representatives from the university and Ms. Jam Acuzar herself.

The collection, now formally designated as the DAFA Collections, is a curated archive of print resources, many rare and carefully selected for their depth in the fields of design, architecture, and visual culture. These volumes are intended to serve as lasting references for Architecture and Fine Arts students and the university’s wider community of art patrons who might be engaged in related creative fields.

To introduce the collection, User Education Librarian Ravena Infante, RL, presented a selection of standout titles, moving through monographs, technical volumes, and portfolios that represent the scope of the donation. Technical Services Librarian Justin U. Piang, RL explained the cataloging process and demonstrated how students can locate the materials through the university’s native online public access catalog FULIOPAC.

The event culminated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by University Librarian Dr. Briccio M. Merced, Jr., RL, LPT and joined by DAFA Program Chairpersons Ms. Sandra Cuan and Ms. Vanessa Gaston, Vice Chancellor for Academic Support Ms. Glene May D. Lusares, PRMO Director Ms. Lucelle E. Saguban, and other members of the administration. With the ribbon cut, the DAFA Collections were officially opened. Guests gathered around the new shelves, turning pages and beginning the first of many visits in the library's section.

You may find the DAFA Collections at the Print Division on the third floor of the University Library.
