Foundation University and Unilab Education (UniED) have launched a five-year partnership to develop university-industry collaborations and promote activities that are mutually beneficial to both parties, the medical field, and to society in general.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) brings together two respected institutions dedicated to innovation and nation-building. Under the agreement, FU and UniED will collaborate on program development, construction and development of infrastructure facilities, career development programs for both students and faculty, and collaboration on research development, extension and production projects.
The partnership is led by FU President Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco and UniED President Atty. Jose Maria Ochave.
At its core, the MOU aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice. It encourages the development of innovative academic programs that reflect current industry standards and emerging workforce needs. These efforts are designed to make education more relevant and future-focused.
This initiative aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 4: Quality Education
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
These global benchmarks provide a strong foundation for the long-term direction of the collaboration.
Beyond institutional goals, the partnership carries a deeper purpose. It recognizes the reality that education must evolve alongside technological and economic shifts to remain relevant and impactful.
Students can expect more exposure to industry environments and participation in projects that reflect real workplace challenges. These experiences help build confidence and competence, preparing them not only for employment but for leadership roles in the future.
For faculty, the collaboration opens doors to interdisciplinary research and professional exchange. It encourages continuous learning and strengthens the link between academic inquiry and practical application. This exchange of knowledge helps enrich teaching methods and deepens the overall learning experience.
This partnership sets a tone of cooperation and shared progress, where education becomes a collective effort to shape a more innovative and sustainable future. By working together, Foundation University and UniED aim to create spaces where ideas can be tested and translated into practical outcomes.
The MOU between Foundation University and UniED goes beyond the traditional by dismantling the walls between theoretical learning and industrial reality. This is in line with Foundation University’s reputation for producing graduates who are not only academically strong but also industry-ready.
