Foundation University continues to enhance the campus experience through the development of new and revitalized spaces that support learning, collaboration, and academic life. Recent initiatives highlight the university’s commitment to providing environments where students, faculty, and staff can grow and connect.

Among these developments are the opening of the PUP Stop at the North Campus, the inauguration of the Vicente G. Sinco Hall, the launch of the Paws Place Coworking Space, and the recent inauguration of the new College of Nursing building, Smeets Hall 2.

Paws Place Coworking Space

The Paws Place Coworking Space offers a modern and flexible environment for study and collaboration. Redesigned from the former Information Technology (IT) Laboratory, the facility now features individual workspaces, group seating areas, and a conference room to support a wide range of academic activities.

With the addition of an online reservation system, students and faculty can easily access the space and make the most of a productive and comfortable working environment.

PUP Stop at the North Campus

A new dining and lounge space has opened at the Foundation Preparatory Academy building with the introduction of the PUP Stop. Located on the fourth floor of the FPA Science Wing, the space provides a convenient place for students, faculty, and staff to eat, relax, and recharge in a given day.

The PUP Stop offers a variety of meals and snacks, along with a spacious, air-conditioned environment designed for comfort. With its welcoming atmosphere and vibrant layout, adorned by the works of alumnus and resident artist Hersley Ven Casero, it has quickly become a popular spot for students to gather, study, or take a break between classes.

Vicente G. Sinco Hall

Another important milestone was the recent inauguration of the Vicente G. Sinco Hall on February 27, 2026. The former College of Law and Jurisprudence building was dedicated to honor Dr. Vicente Guzman Sinco, whose vision and leadership helped shape the university’s existence and guided its development into a nationally recognized higher education institution.

The College of Law and Jurisprudence was among the earliest academic pillars on campus. The program achieved full government recognition in February 1953 and later produced its first graduating class. As the program continued to grow, the College of Law and Jurisprudence building was constructed in the year 2000 to support the increasing number of students pursuing legal education. For more than two decades, the building has served as an academic home for aspiring lawyers.

The naming of the building recognizes Dr. Sinco’s lasting contributions to the university to serve as a reminder of the ideals he championed: excellence in scholarship, commitment to justice, and service to the Filipino people.

Smeets Hall 2: A New Home for Future Nurses

A major highlight in the university’s recent developments is the inauguration of the new seven-storey College of Nursing building, Smeets Hall 2. The new facility represents a significant milestone in Foundation University’s continuing commitment to strengthen nursing education and prepare future healthcare professionals who will serve with competence, compassion, and integrity. Smeets Hall 2 provides expanded learning spaces designed to support both academic and clinical training. The building features modern classrooms, simulation laboratories, faculty offices, and collaborative learning areas that enhance the overall educational experience of nursing students. From the first day of construction to its completion, the building stands as a testament to the university’s vision of delivering world- class healthcare education.

The inauguration highlights the university’s sustained investment in facilities that respond to the growing demand for highly trained healthcare professionals, both locally and globally. With the opening of Smeets Hall 2, the College of Nursing is poised to further advance its mission of forming nurses who are committed to service, leadership, and excellence in healthcare.

Through these developments, Foundation University is committed to build a campus that supports both tradition and innovation. Each space contributes to a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment, where students are given the tools and spaces they need to succeed. As the university moves forward, these new facilities stand as a reflection of its enduring commitment to excellence and the future of education.
