Edgar Sevilla Pasimio Scholarship Fund Expands to Support More Foundation University Students

ree

The Edgar Sevilla Pasimio (ESP) Scholarship fund, established by  the late Edgar S. Pasimio has expanded its reach this academic year to five (5) deserving students on their 3rd year in college until graduation.

The decision to broaden the scholarship was driven by the family’s strong impression of the initial recipients.  It is a legacy of Mr. Pasimio and is now continued by his grandchildren. Their academic performance, discipline, and dedication to their studies inspired the family to extend the opportunities to more deserving students.

Under the guidelines of the ESP Scholarship, recipients are expected to maintain strong academic standing. They must consistently earn grades higher than 2.0 and avoid falling below 2.5 in any subject. At the same time recipients are also expected to demonstrate character, leadership, and a visible commitment to service in their communities.

While the ESP Scholarship does not require return service to the benefactors, students are expected to express gratitude through responsibility, perseverance, and dedication in their studies and personal development. This reinforces and cultivates the values of excellence and service without imposing contractual obligations.

The ESP Scholarship is privately funded and not institutionalized within Foundation University’s internal scholarship programs. It is autonomous and operates independent from the university’s financial aid office or academic committees. It does not affect students’ eligibility for other university scholarships nor does it prevent them from pursuing external grants for the continuation of their studies.

At present, scholarship recipients represent a range of academic disciplines across Foundation University. For Academic Year 2025, the full scholarship has been awarded to Hanna Shane R. Quirit, Alexa Nicole A. Alcazar, and Andrew Estrebella, while the half scholarship has been granted to Christian Binondo and Cherrie Mae E. Sayre. The current beneficiaries come from the College of Education, the College of Criminology, the College of Business Administration, and the School of Industrial Engineering and Technology.
