Bachelor of Arts in Political Science

Understanding Power, Shaping Futures

The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BA PoS) program provides a comprehensive understanding of governments, public policies, and political behavior, utilizing both humanistic and scientific perspectives to make sense of contemporary political phenomena. This program will expose students to local and international political structures, acquainting them with the theories necessary to analyze and navigate their complexities — how the systems are maintained, and how they are challenged. Students will explore the discipline's sub-fields and methods, developing skills in research, critical thinking, and communication. The curriculum emphasizes the connections between individual and institutional levels, as well as national and global models of policy-making and governance. Graduates will be prepared to engage ethically in political involvement and practice, and to contribute to informed discussions on current issues and problems within national and global contexts.
